Chinese users of the iPhone and iPad are now able to use the new iOS 6 mobile operating system, which incorporates features popular in the country.
Â
The iOS 6 update provides users with 200 new features, including a Chinese-language Siri, Baidu search platform and Sina Weibo. It is the first time for Siri, Apple's personal voice assistant, to speak Chinese.
Â
The iOS 6 was made available to users yesterday.
Â
The Google Map is replaced by a map service developed by Beijing-based AutoNavi for users on the Chinese mainland.
Â
The iOS 6 has an up-to-date Chinese dictionary and handwriting recognition support for more than 30,000 Chinese characters. Mainland users can also share videos directly to Youku Tudou, the biggest domestic video sharing website.Â
Â
Users can also post to Sina Weibo, a Twitter equivalent and China's top social website with 300 million users, directly from iPhone or iPad.
