Airbus will be present at Aviation Expo/China 2009 on the stand of its parent company EADS, located at Hall 9, Stand G-1 of the China International Exhibition Centre in Beijing.

Centre-stage at the Airbus display will be a 1/20-scale cutaway model of the A380, offering a view of a typical interior layout on the world's largest passenger aircraft. Visitors will also be able to obtain information on the highly successful in-service experience with the aircraft in its first 23 months of commercial operation. This has seen the world fleet already accumulate over 62,500 revenue flight hours, with 19 A380s now flying with three airlines to 12 major cites worldwide. More than 2.5 million happy passengers have flown on the 21st century eco-efficient flagship.

Also on display will be a 1/20-scale model of the new A330-200F freighter. Currently in development, this latest version of the popular A330 will enter service next year. Capable of carrying 64 tonnes of freight over 4,000 nautical miles / 7,400 km, the A330-200F will be the most efficient aircraft available in the mid-size freighter category, burning less fuel and generating less noise and emissions than existing cargo aircraft in this size category.

Airbus will hold a press briefing at the show on Wednesday 23 September at 12.30 at Room 201 in the General Service Building of the Exhibition Centre. The briefing will be by Airbus China President Laurence Barron, who will have a review of the major achievements of Airbus in China in the past months this year. Also at the press briefing, Dougie Adams, Director of Consulting at Oxford Economics, will present the key findings of the Oxford Economics report “Aviation: The Real World Wide Web”, highlighting the contribution of aviation and the challenges it faces.

Airbus comes to Asian Aerospace 2009 as it celebrates 40 Years of Innovation and as China’s civil aviation cerebrates its 60 years development. Since the agreement to launch its first aircraft programme back in 1969, Airbus has grown to become the world's leading manufacturer of civil aircraft, as well as offering a range of military transport aircraft through its Airbus Military division. Airbus started industrial cooperation with China as it delivered the first aircraft, an A310, to China in 1985. Airbus now has four joint-ventures with Chinese partners covering training, engineering, final assembly and composite manufacturing. It has a number of cooperation projects on going in China. Over half of the Airbus worldwide fleet has components produced in China.
